240-Hour Transit: Cities & Regions across 24 Provinces
China's 240-hour visa-free transit covers 24 provinces / regions / municipalities with their own listed activity zones. As of the 2025 policy update, travelers can move across provincial borders within the 240-hour window as long as they stay inside the union of allowed activity zones and exit via a listed port to a third country or region.
Cross-province example: enter at Beijing (PEK) → HSR to Shanghai (Jiangsu / Shanghai zone) → HSR to Guangzhou (Guangdong zone) → exit at HKZM Bridge to Hong Kong = valid, all within the 24-province union and within 240 hours.
